J'ai été pas mal occupé dans les derniers jours... Voici donc notre récit. Quand je dis notre récit, je tiens à souligner celui de Mighty et Gram et non pas Dantoy, car il a du ce désister... Dieu ait pitié de lui... Samedi 06:00 la sonnerie de mon cellulaire ce fait entendre et m'urge à sortir de mon lit chaud et douillet. De grandes choses seront à être accomplies aujourd'hui et je me dois d'être prêt! Donc je me lève, ramasse le linge chaud que j'ai préparé la veille. Je m'interroge sur la nécessiter d'apporter mon manteau d'hiver... Je décide d'aller le chercher au cas ou... étant fatiguer et un peu lâche, je tire sur celui-ci comme un con au lieu de vider le bac et hop, je déchire le devant de mon manteau... Bon de la couture en perspective! je texte Gram pour savoir s'il a un kit de couture et il me confirme que oui! 06:45 je prends la route. Le ciel est bleu et je commence à douter du choix de notre guide de déplacer notre sortie de pêche qui était prévue de nuit, de jours à 10:00, car les vents étaient plus cléments... J'ai pas mal de temps pour penser à tout ça, car la route est longue. Il faut dire que je pars de North Hatley et que le fleuve n'est pas la porte à coter! J'en profite pour faire une escale à Ange Gardien pour me claquer 3 saucisses McMuffin et un bagel BLT. Il est important de bien nourrir ce mighty-là! Bref, je continue mon chemin et arrive finalement à destination. Le temps de regarder mon cell et échanger quelques textes que je vois mon comparse, Gramskunk, arriver dans le stationnement. Quelques salutation et j'en profite pour lui quêter son kit de couture et le procède à la délicate opération de recoudre mon manteau. Après quelques minutes passées sous le regard sévère de Gram, je termine le tout et sérieux, pas pire pentoute pour une job clencher rapido sur le tailgate d'un truc! Bref, on voit un pick-up arriver et Gram va voire le gars qu'il croit être le guide... Nope ce n'est qu'un gars bien pénard qui n'est clairement pas guide! On déambule telles deux âmes égarées quelques minutes et croisons finalement notre guide. On serre la main, jase un peu et un s'enligne sur le quai là ou il nous ramassera. La première chose que je remarque c'est la taille du filet. Sérieux, tu peux chasser le chevreuil avec un net comme ça (ceci ne sera pas la dernière analogie par rapport au chevreuil)! Bref, on décolle du quai, il nous donne des ceintures de sécurité pas mal intéressante qu'on attache à notre taille, met un cache-cou, des gants et ont décole. La ride est quand même froide, mais ça fait partie de la game! Le guide nous explique que la pêche à l'esturgeon est dans état précaire et que la pêche commerciale n'aide pas à la cause. Il nous montre comment les localiser, comment ce positioner et ont procède à s'ancrer. Une fois ancrer il nous donne plusieurs directives et astuces sur cette pêche que nous avons bien hâte de commencer. Il faut dire que pour Mighty, pêcher avec du lourd c'est de sortir les spinners bait de 1/2 donc de caster un plomb de genre 4 once c'est pas mal nouveau pour moi! La pêche commence et Gram s'inscrit au tableau avec un premier esturgeon (le plus petit de la journée). Par la suite, c'est à mon tour et je croise le fer avec le roi de la place! Il est lourd! Je tiens la canne et il ne fait que dérouler! Rien à faire à part être témoin de la puissance de cette bête! Subitement j'observe ma ligne partir au large et je devine assez rapidement le sombre objectif qu'entre voit mon adversaire: il va sauter. Comme de fait, il saute hors de l'eau et je reste de glace quand je vois la taille de la bête! Non seulement il a l'air d'être énorme, mais quand les esturgeons sautent, ils ont l'allure de requin ce qui est assez trippant! Bref, le combat continue et nous alternons entre les charges en direction de l'embarcation, les départs puissants et les rapides changements de direction. Bref d'une main de maître (il faut bien ce lancer des fleures) je réussis à déjouer mon puissant adversaire et il se livre enfin à nous! Le stress est à son comble et hop, il entre de l'immense filet! Les cris de joies, sourires et félicitations fusent de toute part! Pêcher un poisson comme ça c'est une expérience vraiment unique! Notre guide nous instruit sur la bonne méthode pour sortir le poisson sans le blesser, rapidement prendre quelques photos pour ensuite le rendre au fleuve à qui il appartient. Voici la bête! Un bel esturgeon jaune de 60 pouces! Je n'en reviens toujours pas! Ma théorie: Il tire ça force des bébés chevreuil qu’il engloutit! C’est la seule raison qui explique ça puissance! Par la suite, c'est au tour de Gram d'enchaîner les prises! 2x 55 pouces 1x 51 pouces Au travers de tout ça, je réussis à déjouer mon 2e et dernier esturgeon de la journée pour un 42 pouces. Plus petit, mais qui a donné un combat tout aussi intéressant. Un autre fait saillant est la sensibilité des touches. Sans être un expert de la pêche aux appâts, j'ai quand même pratiqué cette pêche à quelques reprises et j'ai manqué (Gram et notre guide) un nombre très élevé de touches.
